Sony confirmed that PlayStation 3 will support the new 3D Blu-Ray specifications, which are finalized by the Blu-ray Disc Association (Blu-ray Disc Association).
To be able to reproduce a 3D video content will need to have a TV set that supports the 3D, and a new firmware update that in the coming period should be available. Many believe that 3D technology will be the next big step in movies and in the games industry.
When became available new 3D Blu-ray content will be displayed in 2D form if you don't have a required hardware. The first upcoming game that will support this form of 3D is Avatar: The Game, and several other titles will follow.
