HDMI group released 3D specifications for HDMI 1.4 standard, and thus showed that the 3D image formats, whether in films, games or TV programs, is what we definitely can expect in the near future.
Films such as Avatar certainly contribute to the exceptional public interest in 3D technology, and already many manufacturers start with the mass production of devices that are able to reproduce 3D content. Of course, this does not mean only the use of 3D spectaclesbut also and monitors / TV that have their own role in it (Samsung has already started with the full production of 3D TV devices).
Good thing in all this is that we have a standard, which won't lead to war format as was the case with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.
