Canon today introduced a new entry-level DSLR camera, Canon T1i/500D successor, and therefore it carries the tag Canon Rebel T2i.
Optical sensor has a 18 megapixel resolution, and unlike T1i model there is supported capture of video in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, T1i could do it at 20 fps. The camera has an HDMI video output, which in combination with certain TV models can be used for remote control of camera. For storage there is SDXC memory card slot, which will in future have a capacity of as much as 2TB.
As for the photo feature Canon Rebel T2i includes:
- Max ISO 12,000, the standard mode 100-6400
- 3.7 images in a continuous shooting
- 9 AF points
- 3 inch screen
According to announcements, Canon plans to deliver Canon Rebel T2i camera in early March with price around $800 or $900 in a package with 18-55 f3.5-5.6 lens.
